iBurst Vodacom 3G HSDPA Upgrade FAQ
1. What does the new iBurst HSDPA Product Upgrade offering consist of?
The new Broadband offering will consist of:
1. iBurst HSDPA Standard Contract 24 – Month Packages
2. iBurst HSDPA Advanced Contract 24 – Month Packages
3. iBurst HSDPA Standard Top Up 24 - Month Packages
4. iBurst HSDPA Advanced Top Up 24 – Month Packages
Note: New data customers can choose from any one of the four offerings. Customers will no longer have to be activated for HSDPA 3.6 on the iBurst HSDPA standard offerings; they will be automatically provisioned with this offering free of charge. Existing HSDPA Standard customers can migrate to iBurst HSDPA Advanced. Standard migration Rules apply.

Pay a monthly subscription for a set amount of data. When the customer depletes their monthly data bundle, they will not have internet access unless they top-up by purchasing prepaid airtime data from their nearest Vodacom outlet (E.g. Bank, garage or cellular retailer). |

3. Can a customer migrate between iBurst Standard and Advanced packages on both the Contract 24- Month package and Top Up 24- Month Package offerings?
- All Parallel, Downward and Upward migrations from Broadband Standard to Broadband Advanced and vice versa for 24-month Data Contracts will be allowed subject to standard migration rules.
- Any unused data will be forfeited for all migrations within and across Broadband Standard to Broadband Advanced and vice versa for 24-month contracts.
4. How can customers migrate* from iBurst Standard to iBurst Advanced on both the Contract 24 –Month package and Top Up 24 – Month Package offerings?

5. Are HSDPA 3.6 and HSDPA 7.2 network coverage dependant?
Yes, HSDPA 3.6, and/or HSDPA 7.2 are available where there is 3G coverage. Refer to the coverage map on the iBurst website www.iburst.co.za
6. When does unused in-bundle data expire?
For Contract customers (Contract 24 - Month packages & Top Up 24 –Month packages), unused data will be carried over up to the last calendar day of the next month, following the month in which the data was allocated.
E.g. A customer bought a MY GIG ONE bundle on 10 April 2009. His unused data will be carried over to 31 May 2009, at which time it will expire. The customer’s unused data would have carried over for 51 days.
7. What downlink speeds do the HSDPA offerings achieve?
Customers with HSDPA Standard 3.6 will offer theoretical throughput speed of up to 3.6 Mbps, and customers with HSDPA Advanced 7.2 will have speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. These speeds are theoretical and are NOT guaranteed.
8. What happens if a customer bought a HSDPA 1.8 Mps with 3. 6 Mbps as a R49.00 VAS service between 1 March 2009 and 1 April 2009?
Customers, who purchased the HSDPA 3.6 with after 1 March 2009, have already been refunded on a pro rata basis on 1 April 2009.
9. Will reverse billing for corporate APN’s be offered on HSDPA Advanced Contract 24 –Month packages?
No, this will only be available on HSDPA Standard 24 –Month packages.
